Aretha Tillotson is a world class bassist in town with the Mirvish musical SIX. She is usually teaching at Berklee College of Music in Boston or at MacEwan University in Edmonton. We are lucky to have her here in Toronto and I want to share her wisdom with my music-minded friends. We will be discussing and demonstrating accompanying someone else's solo and how to create musical moments while also remaining steady for the soloist. We will discuss learning tunes, improvising, and the masters that we always return to in our own study. The workshop will be followed by a house concert for just an additional $20 for the workshop attendees.
