GUITAR RAGS & COUNTRY BALLADS

Hello! I want to especially thank you for supporting this project and being interested in this album. It's a little wild, has a lot of different sounds on it, and some crazy musicians jumped on board to offer their amazing playing. Sarah Frank and Luke Fraser of the incredible folk duo The Bombadils make up most of the core sound, as it was the three of us who arranged and tracked live the bulk of the album. There are 7 songs on here that I wrote and sing, and they helped me put those into context and just really make them songs. These songs are about break ups, drinking, hoarding, and baseball. I also recorded two rags for solo guitar that I arranged, paying tribute to my guitar heroes like Blind Blake and the Rev. Gary Davis. The third instrumental track features Halifax greats Anna Wedlock and Steve MacNeil, and it's the incredible bop piece 'Donna Lee.' Below you'll also find a super fun video shot at the studio by Analog Songs! THE ALBUM'S OUT! Buy it here, stream it there, come to a show. Thanks so much for everything, I'm so excited to be sharing this music with the world. The songbook is now DONE and available for sale through my bandcamp, it features all the chords and lyrics, as well as some musings on music theory, pick holding, and playing. Thanks again to Emma Jane who designed the book.

I want to thank just about everyone in my life, the journey that led to the creation of this album was touched by so many, and then the creation of it itself bolstered by an amazing body of musicians, inspirations, and friends.

Thank you to the amazing team of talent that contributed to the making of this album. To my endlessly supportive family, to the artists I get to play with who inspire me in their dedication to make what they want, to my teachers and mentors, my colleagues out here on the road, the Halifax Folklore Centre, Bearly’s House of Blues & Ribs, to Emma Jane, James Sanderson, Howling Giant, and the good Lord above.

This album is dedicated to the fond memory of my grandmother, Rita (Whalen) Kerr.
